Hi, under counter come with extra pre filter and can stand for high pressure (5bar) but counter top cannot. this is also effect the cost of the product.
However, both are worldwide standard NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 401 + P473.

For counter top, it's around 6-12months, depends how is your usage.
For under counter, there's a built in alarm to alert when due date.
