Pantun ialah warisan puisi Melayu tradisional yang paling unik dan asli. Pantun lahir dalam masyarakat yang mementingkan kebijaksanaan, kecerdasan akal dan penggunaan kata-kata. Ia dicipta secara lisan, justeru bentuknya memperlihatkan ciri-ciri sastera lisan yang umum – bersukat, berangkap, berentak dan berima. Daripada jumlahnya yang cukup besar dan jenisnya yang rencam, ternyata pantun merupakan puisi yang amat digemari. Ia bukan sahaja akrab dengan kehidupan orang Melayu tetapi juga memenuhi pelbagai fungsi bicara dan adat. Isinya mencakupi diri manusia secara menyeluruh – emosi, akal dan budinya. Khalayaknya merentasi kanak-kanak sehingga dewasa.
Seringnya pantun dijumpai dalam bentuk ujaran lisan, dikumpulkan dan dibukukan untuk diabadikan. Namun, pantun juga terdapat pada halaman-halaman teks sastera tradisional; pantun-pantun ini saya gelar pantun perawi – periwayat sastera. Maka buku ini merupakan satu dokumentasi pantun yang terdapat dalam teks-teks sastera lama baik yang tampil secara lisan (kemudian dibukukan) mahupun secara bertulis. Himpunan ini memuatkan lebih daripada seribu pantun yang dikumpulkan daripada lebih kurang 80 buah teks sastera tradisional daripada pelbagai genre.
Noriah Taslim mula bertugas sebagai pensyarah di Pusat Pengajian Ilmu Kemanusiaan, Universiti Sains Malaysia pada tahun 1982. Pada tahun 1993, beliau memperoleh ijazah doktor falsafah daripada Monash University, Australia. Beliau pernah menjadi pensyarah kunjungan di Universiti Brunei Darussalam pada tahun 2006. Kini, beliau bertugas di Institut Alam dan Tamadun Melayu, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Bidang pengkhususan beliau ialah sastera tradisional, terutamanya dalam aspek teori dan kritikan; kajian filologi dan suntingan naskhah; kajian budaya (pascakolonial, gender, sosiologi sastera); dan kajian interdisiplin dalam kesusasteraan. Penyelidikan beliau memfokuskan bidang konvensi, puitika dan sastera Melayu; kelisanan dan keaksaraan (teks dan budaya); kajian folklor; dan wanita dalam sastera Melayu tradisional. Beliau pernah memenangi beberapa anugerah seperti Anugerah Sastera Negara, Anugerah Sastera Perdana, Anugerah Tinta Kencana dan Anugerah Sanggar Sanjung USM.

How to Request for Cancellation/Return/Exchange
- You can request for cancellation after completing payment and if product has not been dispatched by then, cancellation request is approved and you can receive refund.
But, in case seller has already dispatched product, cancellation request can be rejected. - You can request for return after obtaining product, you should send the product in question to seller.
After seller checks if returned product is flawed, and approves your request, return is completed and payment is refunded. - You can request for exchange if wrong product is shipped, you should send the product in question to seller.
After seller checks if returned product is flawed, seller approves your request, and re-sends new product.
Criteria for Return/Exchange
You can request for return/exchange within 7 calendar days following delivery date. But return/exchange request cannot be made in following cases:
- When request due to change of mind is made after 7 calendar days following delivery date
- When product is used, destroyed or damaged
- When tag attached to product is removed or package of product is opened and product value is damaged
- When sealed package is opened or packaging materials are lost
- When too much time has passed and product value has so decreased that its re-sale is not possible
- When return/exchange request is made for customized product such as hand-made shoes or accessories
- When components of product (including free gift) have been used or lost
- When buyer did not follow instructions included in product
