Hi, it has 500mAh built in battery, the batt will only dtart working when engine is off. Basically when somebody hit or bang your car, your car will shake and this action will trigger the 70mai pro G Sensor, and it will start recording emergency video for that moment. After you get back to your car, start engine, the cam will comes out with a voice promt to nofity (if there is any emergency video recorded)
Conclusion, this is NOT 24/7 record (24/7 is not a good idea because if you leave your car since 10am, accident happen in 12pm, and you come back to yor car at 8pm night time, guess what, the newer record will overwrite the emergency/important video which will be useful for you to claim insurance/lodge police report)
